OPEN CR MEME.
It's our first CR meme. Apps aren't yet open, so this is mostly a place to jam for anybody! If you comment to this meme, you have an invitation. Please use this space to talk about characters you're interested in apping, while I use this space to figure out how big the first round might be.
Please note that you do not have to app whatever characters you mention here, and you are not inextricably tied to whatever vampire abilities you discuss here. You're free to change your mind between here and apping.
The tentative open date is OCT 10, with apps opening OCT 05, so I figure we've all got plenty of time to get our ideas in order before then.

CHARACTER DIRECTION:
Dettlaff is a weirdo, let's get that out of the way first and foremost— blame it on vampires in the Witcher just being a different species altogether: he's emotionally potent as a baseline and (consistently gets called out for) masking said emotion as often as inhumanly possible, but it's important to note his emotions =/= the same type or intensity as any human counterpart. Because of that, at times, he can be woefully naive, missing even the most obvious context clues or falling prey to indelicate manipulation. He's used to the company of vampires, rather than people. He doesn't understand deception; he doesn't understand lies.
Still, he's been known to go to extreme lengths for humans who've paid him near nonexistent kindnesses— such as giving him an apple. Real easy to win over.
For forever, in fact.
His hierarcy of needs tends to roll with protecting those closest to him > everything else, but anger can easily supersede everything. Irrationality, being part of that anger, is just as much a risk.
Current thoughts I'm weighing are whether or not I want to keep his Witcher!vampire emotional responses/intensity/constraints, or offer him the chance to rapidfire acclimate the way canon never really let him. Either could be just as fun given the morality struggle in this setting, it'd just wind up being a different sort of arc, so I'll make my final call on this before I app. Feel free to weigh in if you've got opinions.
WANTED CR:
Gimme the big soft bullshit— the moments where Detts is weak to simple kindness and driven to reciprocate— give me the absolute awful fallout of confrontation and anger and disagreement. Dettlaff is a good dude at heart, he doesn't want to cause harm without sufficient cause. I kind of suspect that depending on how things shake out, he'll be more inclined to help humans despite being at odds with them.
One side note to be wary of, just because it's a canon plot point, be careful if you want your character in an actual relationship with him: Dettlaff doesn't get love aside from the most intense, possibly uncomfortable devotion you've ever come across. It's a 'packmate' thing, as Regis puts it— no one leaves their pack willingly, you don't back out of it once you opt in, at least not as Dettlaff understands it.
Since this is a short run game I don't think that's a high risk development, if a potential development at all, but just for the sake of awareness pls consider this me highlighting and underscoring the bottom line.*
*if I wind up toning down his W!vampire emotional intensity for being essentially depowered, this won't be as much of a huge deal.
