It's our first CR meme. Apps aren't yet open, so this is mostly a place to jam for anybody! If you comment to this meme, you have an invitation. Please use this space to talk about characters you're interested in apping, while I use this space to figure out how big the first round might be.

Please note that you do not have to app whatever characters you mention here, and you are not inextricably tied to whatever vampire abilities you discuss here. You're free to change your mind between here and apping.

The tentative open date is OCT 10, with apps opening OCT 05, so I figure we've all got plenty of time to get our ideas in order before then.

Some spoilers so you have things to plan around:

1. An ancient god has contacted you with terrible purpose.
2. Two pious clerics will aid you with their lives, if necessary. Will you make it necessary? Get to know them in the free demo below.
3. A maze, deep underground. The sun hides from you.
4. Hunger churns. Will you be able to keep your wits about you when prey is finally in view?
5. Feel free to ask for more questions about this below, though I don't want to spoil everything, I do want to give you something to plot around / look forward to.

CHARACTER / FANDOM: Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy / The Witcher: Blood and Wine

VAMP ABILITIES: Dirt Nap, Night Senses, Night Creature

This pretty much decided itself, because in the course of pondering our choices I fell in love with two mental images of Regis:
- wearing welding goggles while Doing Science over a flame
- wrapping himself in a blanket like a grumpy babushka while Dettlaff throws dirt on him

(In canon he talks to ravens; here bats will have to do.)

CHARACTER DIRECTION: Regis here began his life as a total shit and has since worked very hard to conduct himself with decency. He's since become a barber-surgeon, an alchemist, a botanist, a hobbyist inventor—basically a big old know-it-all who will make sure you know how much he knows because he loves to know and think and talk about things. Relentlessly.

He was born a vampire, but a very different kind, accustomed to a much broader power set with fewer physical restrictions. Also, being a reformed blood addict, he is absolutely not cool with having to kill humanoids to survive. I'm keen to navigate that alongside his kindly nature. Also also, his very good pal will be here so I must bring him here too, that's the rules.

WANTED CR: Positive, negative, fluctuating, give me it. Regis has special soft spots for misfits and brooding quiet types, and will not be deterred by grumpiness, so if you want someone to be persistent at your character despite their... them... he's your manpire.

Look at that perfect, charming bat. Can't believe you found two photos of Emiel. More importantly I can't believe I get to finally rp with you after 800 years, and that it's these two, my tragique faves— I could weep. I might still.

Also v important: because these powers have to be acclimated to anyway, what are the odds Regis decides to test out whether or not he can still talk to his bird friends by chattering away at them very diligently for [indeterminable amount of time goes here].

Hey what a good thought. Regis is definitely more interested in relating to a creature than straight up controlling it, so chatting to birds reflexively while they ??? at the funny noises this guy is making is extremely likely... that's basically how he made friends with Dettlaff, right

also lbr the sheer amount of jewelry Regis threw at Dettlaff over the years is basically the equivalent of tossing food to a wild animal, right? Food in the shape of repeated poetic metaphors and attempted life lessons

speaking of controlling animals though, I'm gonna straight up die when Regis starts losing memories because of it, thanks. Please just stick to feeding the corvids, old bat
